At Valence Psychotherapy, therapy is seen as a collaborative journey rooted in curiosity, trust, and genuine care. It’s not about fixing what’s wrong, but creating a safe space where you can slow down, be heard, and begin to understand what has been difficult to carry on your own.
We believe healing comes through reflection and relationship — when you feel truly seen and accepted, it becomes possible to explore long-held patterns, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward a more authentic and grounded sense of self. This process honors your unique story and the complexity of your experience, allowing growth to unfold at a pace that feels right for you.
While the work can be challenging, it does not have to be done alone. Valence Psychotherapy offers steady support to help you listen inward, make room for what matters most, and imagine new ways of being in the world — with compassion, respect, and hope.
People often come to therapy when something in their life — internally or relationally — feels off, uncertain, or unsustainable. Maybe you're feeling anxious, disconnected, stuck in old patterns, or weighed down by something you can’t quite name. Whatever brings you here, the goal is to create a space that feels steady, reflective, and collaborative — where we can explore your emotional world with curiosity and care, and make room for real, lasting change.
What draws me to this work is the richness and nuance of the inner world and the opportunity to help people make sense of theirs with compassion and clarity. I’ve always been interested in the quieter layers of experience: the emotions just beneath the surface, the patterns that repeat, the moments that feel off but are hard to name. I aim to bring a warm, thoughtful presence to the work — attuned to both what’s being said and what’s asking to be heard.
My approach is rooted in psychodynamic and relational frameworks, which means I pay attention to how your past and present connect — the patterns, relationships, and emotional dynamics that shape how you see yourself and move through the world. I don’t believe in quick fixes, but I do believe that insight, when paired with a supportive relationship, can create meaningful and lasting change.

Miley is our emotional support puppy here at Valence Psychotherapy! She’s currently navigating her teenage years with spunk with a little bit of sass, always down for a belly rub or playing fetch. Miley loves to join clients in session, often greeting them with licks and tail-wags until eventually falling asleep at their feet.

Meaningful change begins with understanding, not judgment. Compassion holds space for complexity, making it possible to explore what’s been difficult without needing to hide or rush through it.
Healing happens in relationship. A sense of trust, attunement, and mutual respect allows the therapeutic space to feel steady, honest, and collaborative — the kind of connection that supports real change.
Insight is the foundation of lasting change. When the deeper patterns behind thoughts, feelings, and behaviors come into focus, they become easier to work with — and shift in ways that feel aligned and meaningful over time.

I started going to Caroline in November 2020. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with both Caroline. It was an extremely positive experience and I feel as though it has significantly changed my life/outlook for the better.
